Saltburn's cliff lift was opened in June 1884 and is the oldest remaining waterbalance cliff lift in Britain.Saltburn's Grade ll listed Victorian pier was the first iron pier built on the North East coast & opened in May 1869,it is the most northerly surviving British pier & last officially re-opened in July 2001 after under-going major restoration work to return it to its former glory.
